My eldest boy asked me a couple of weeks ago how come his baby brother, who does not share the same dad as the older two, did not have the same last name as them.
I explained to him that, traditionally, babies get their dad's last name, not their mom's, unless the mom is married to dad, and then she gets to share their name too.
"Mom without a last name" is a reference to being a single mom, which makes it so that my kids and I do not share our family name; I divorced the father of my two older ones, never married the father of my youngest: I'm their mom but without their last name... a mom without a last name.
Mother of three beautiful children, which is the only part of my life that is always good, is always kind, is always joyful, and is always loving.
Motherhood, to me, has been an incredible and unusual journey. So I am here to tell you the story of the immense love I have for my children, the story of the good, the bad, and the ugly, as well as the learnings I've gathered along the way, and some tips to make chaos more manageable.
At worst, I hope you enjoy it. At best, I hope you learn, feel supported, and get inspired.
With much love,
Care, a mom without a last name.
